The Maine Women's Ice Hockey Team fell to #8 Northeastern 2-1 on Saturday, November 22nd at the Alfond Arena in Orono.

Maine jumped out to a 1-0 lead with 5:52 gone in the 1st Period, when Lily Fetch scored an unassisted goal.

The score remained 1-0 until Northeastern scored a goal with 8:29 left in the 2nd Period.

The Huskies added their 2nd goal with just 16.4 seconds left to play in the 2nd Period to take a 2-1 lead.

Maine couldn't find the equalizer, despite pulling Kiia Lahtinen for the last 29 seconds of the game .

Northeastern outshot Maine 35-31. Maine skaters blocked 18 shots, with Sade Sandlilands leading the way with 4 blocked shots.

Maine was 0-4 on the power play while Northeastern was 0-5.

Lahtinen ended with 33 saves in net for the Black Bears.

Northeastern is now 12-2-0 overall and 9-0-0 in Hockey East.

Maine is 4-10-1 overall and 2-5-1 in Hockey East.

Maine travels down to play the Harvard Crimson next weekend, with games on Friday, November 28th and Saturday November 29th at 3 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+
