From Shawn Noel's opening game 81-yard kickoff touchdown to a last minute defensive stop on a two-point conversion to tie the game, the Husson University vs Curry College first ever meeting won't soon be forgotten.

The Eagles squeak out a 42-40 win over the Colonels to improve to 2-0 in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (2-3) overall, tied for first place.

Noel's opening TD was the first of three touchdowns as he rushed the ball 32 times for 145 yards and two TDs.

Noel had lost the top running back job to Garrett Poussard (Lewiston HS) but Poussard hurt his knee after rushing 14 times for 69 yards and did not return.

The Eagles led Curry 28-12 at halftime but the Colonels kept coming in the second half, scoring four touchdowns, including the final two of the game.

The last score made the score 42-40 and the Eagles stopped the two-point play to tie the game.

Husson racked up 484 yards of offense. Curry managed 429.

Eagles QB David Morrison went 22-for-32 passing, 241 yards, two TDs and one interception.

Tyler Halls caught 8 passes for 71 yards before leaving the game with an injury. Aidan Hogan caught 7 passes for 89 yards and a TD.

Curry QB Nick Julevier threw for 305 yards and 5 TDs.

The Colonels drop to 1-1 in the CCC (1-4 overall).
