In one of the most dramatic state title games ever, the Bangor Rams captured their 4th straight Class A championship with a 9th inning comeback 4-3 win over Falmouth Saturday afternoon in Augusta.

It is the 13th state title for Bangor baseball and the school's 102nd title including all sports.

This one was anything but easy.

Rams senior pitcher Nick Cowperthwaite and Falmouth senior lefty Cam Guarino were locked in a duel all day. Bangor scored two runs in the 3rd inning. The Yachtsmen answered with two in the 4th.

It stayed that way through regulation play and then in the 9th inning Falmouth pushed across the the go-ahead run on a sacrifice fly by Colin Coyne.

But the Rams answered in the bottom of the 9th. A double by Zach Cowperthwaite started the rally. Tyler Parke ripped a RBI double to tie the game 3-3.

After an intentional walk and a Falmouth error to load the bases, Rams senior catcher Derek Fournier ended the game with a base hit to centerfield. Rams win 4-3.
