Red’s Road Woes Continue[VIDEO]
UMaine hockey road problems continue...this time on the road at Durham, New Hampshire.The Wildcats beat the Black Bears 3-2 Friday night in the first game of a home and home weekend series.
UNH scored in the first minute of the game. Maine's Will Merchant scored a goal two minutes later to tie the game at 1-1.
The Wildcats scored the next two goals, one in the second period and one early in the third.
Maine pulled goalie Martin Ouellette in the final minutes and Mark Anthoine scored a goal to make it 3-2. The Bears could never get the equalizer and remain winless on the road this season.
The Bears outshot UNH 34-27.
Saturday night the scene shifts to Alfond Arena for game two of the series.
Maine is now 11-9-3 and 5-4-2. UNH is 14-12-1 and 6-5-0
