Former Husson University player and assistant coach Shane Rogers has been named the new football at Hampden Academy. The Broncos football job opened when Fred Lower was named the school's athletic director.

Rogers played his high school football in Connecticut where he was all-state as a tight end and defensive end.. He was a defensive end for the Husson Eagles and a two year captain. He earned a degree in Sports Management.

Rogers played in 33 career games for the Eagles and had 143 tackles.

After playing for Eagles coach Gabby Price, Rogers then became an assistant coach under Price for six seasons.

Rogers takes off the Broncos who finished 2-6 last season in Class B North.
