Sole, Pearson Win Conference Honors

UMaine basketball and hockey teams had lots of success over the weekend and America East and Hockey East honored Black Bears with weekly awards.

Freshman Laia Sole is the AE Rookie of the Week for the third time this season. She scored 16 points, three assists and hauled down four rebounds in a win over Northeastern. She scored 15 points in the win over Dartmouth.

Freshman hockey player Chase Pearson has been named Hockey East Co-Player of the Week with Notre Dame's Anders Bjork. Pearson scored a hat trick in Friday night's win over AIC. Saturday night, Pearson scored two goals and an assist in the win.
