UM’s Liz Wood Wins America East Award

University of Maine sophomore Liz Wood has been named America East Scholar-Athlete Award winner for women's basketball. She averaged 13 points and 7 rebounds a game while working in the classroom as a biology major with pre-med studies.

Wood(Catlett, Va.) was a 2nd team all conference player and named to the America East all defensive team.

She is a member of the honors college and holds a GPA of 3.93.

Wood and the Black Bear women's team finished the season with a 17-15 record.
