The Maine Black Beats beat Boston University 3-1 on Friday afternoon, November 7th at the Alfond Arena.

It took Maine just 27 seconds to take a 1-0 lead when Isabelle Michaud scored an unassisted goal.

The Black Bears led 1-0 at the end of the 1st period.

BU scored on a short-handed goal 1:06 into the 2nd period to tie the game, and the game was tied 1-1 at the end of the 2nd period.

The Black Bears scored what would ultimately be the game-winner midway thru the 3rd period, when Ava Stevenson scored at 9:55 assisted by Mackenzie Podewell.

Stevenson scored her 2nd goal of the game with 4:42 left to play, on the power play,  to give the Black Bears an insurance goal. She was assisted by Lulu Rucinski and Isabelle Michaud.

Maine was 1-4 on the power play, while BU was 0-5

Maine outshot BU 35-22.  Kiia Lahtinen had 21 saves in goal for Maine.

Maine is not 3-6-1 overall and 1-1-1 in Hockey East. Boston University is 1-8-0 overall and 1-3-0 in Hockey East. The 2 teams will meet on Saturday, November 8th at 3:30 p.m. If you can't be up at the Alfond, the game will be broadcast on NESN and ESPN+. The Maine Women's Ice Hockey Team will host Skate with the Bears after the game.
