Former UMaine goalie Ben Bishop has agreed to a six-year contract with the Dallas Stars, according to Pierre LeBrun of TSN.

traded on Tuesday to the Stars from the Los Angeles Kings after joining the West Coast franchise during the season via a trade.  He was dealt in exchange for a fourth round draft pick this year.

According to the report, the deal will be for $29.5 million over the duration of the contract.  Bishop was set to enter free agency this off-season before the new contract.

Last season Bishop posted an 18-15-5 record with a 2.54 goal against average during his time with LA and Tampa Bay.  Bishop is currently joined by Kari Lehtonen and Antti Niemi as goalies on the roster with Dallas.
