Michaleb Niles Of Foxcroft Academy Named Athlete Of The Week
Michaleb Niles of Foxcroft Academy has been named First National Bank High School Athlete of the Week after rushing for 120 yards in the Ponies' 41-0 shutout win against Washington Academy last Friday.
Niles, who won with nearly 38 percent of the vote, scored two touchdowns in the Class D North semifinal matchup at Oakes Field.
He carried the ball 18 times, averaging 6.6 yards per carry.
The Ponies will take on Bucksport in the Class D North title game this weekend in Dover-Foxcroft.
Other nominees this week included Drew Cameron of Presque Isle, Jacalyn Pelletier of Fort Kent, David Wilson of Nokomis and Sarah Foust of Gardiner.
Other Athlete of the Week winners from the 2018 fall sports season include Hermon's Wyatt Gogan, MDI's Elijah Joyce, Winslow's Alex Demers, Hermon's Garrett Trask, Alex Costedio of Nokomis, Wyatt Harvey of Houlton, Alex Higgins of Lawrence, MCI's Kyle Burger-Roy and Zach Tubbs of Hermon.
