High School Athlete of the Week: State Champions Edition [RESULTS]
From the newly crowned state champions made at the Maine High School Basketball Tournament, we have three nominees for this week's McDonald's High School Athlete of the Week.
Here they are in alphabetical order:
Nia Irving of Lawrence High School: The junior helped the Bulldogs win their first state championship since 1994 by scoring a game high 27 points and grabbing 7 rebounds.
Brendan McIntyre of Hampden Academy: McIntyrre had a double-double with 22 points and 12 rebounds, both game highs as the Broncos beat Portland for their second title in the last three years.
Mackenzie Worcester of Washburn High School: The senior led the Beavers to their schoolgirl record fifth straight state championship by scoring 37 points including the 2,000th of her career.
You may vote once per hour until 5 a.m. on Thursday, March 5. Dale and Clem will announce the winner during Thursday's Morning Pitch.
